[28 June 2013] The Simpsons Tapped Out Independence Day update



The Simpsons Tapped Out has received a minor in game update which brings four new premium items one new cash item and a new costume for Apu. The update seems to be focused on the upcoming July 4th (Independence Day) holiday.

You can download the latest version of The Simpsons Tapped Out for iOS and Android if you haven't already.

When you first open your game after the in-game update you will be greeted with a message from Apu. Following the dialog you will be told that there is a new costume waiting for Apu in your inventory.


Additionally you can purchase an American Flag decoration for 5600



You can also purchase four new premium items



  • Lincoln's Cabin  150
  • Pinwheel Firework  30
  • Box of Fireworks  50
  • Lisa Statue of Liberty  65

Walkthrough

Find Apu and click him to start the July 4th missions
  1. The Rocket's Red Glare Part 1 - Find Apu's new All-American costume in your inventory, tap Use and  Apu will put it on.

  2. The Rocket's Red Glare Part 2 - Apu will start a 24 hours task to stock up on illegal fireworks.

  3. The Rocket's Red Glare Part 3 - Apu will spend the next 12 hours selling these fireworks to 15 Springfield residents. Make sure Homer is free before the end of this mission.

  4. The Rocket's Red Glare Part 4 - After buying fireworks, Homer finds himself suffering delirium from sleep deprivation. Following a dialog with Lisa, the Nighthawk Diner is unlocked in the build menu.
    -
  5. The Nighthawk Diner costs 15000 and will take 24 hours to construct. Once its ready Rex Banner arrives on the scene.

  6. The Rocket's Red Glare Part 5 - After a conversation with Lisa, Banner reveals that Flanders is the most likely suspect in regard to the illegal fireworks and spend the next 8 hours interrogating him.

  7. The Rocket's Red Glare Part 6 - Banner is now on Apu's trail and spends 12 hours staking out the Kwik-E-Mart while Apu spends 4 hours hiding his fireworks behind the malt liquor.

  8. The Rocket's Red Glare Part 7 - Believing he has found his culprit Banner spends another 12 hours staking out the Kwik-E-Mart while Apu spends another 4 hours hiding his fireworks behind the malt liquor. Make sure that Homer is free when this mission completes.

  9. The Rocket's Red Glare Part 8 - Homer sends Banner after Flanders ounce again, and while Banner interrogates Flanders for another 8 hours, 15 (or more) Springfield residents head over to the Kwik-E-Mart to purchase more fireworks.

  10. The Rocket's Red Glare Part 9 - Rex is back on the trail of the man the call the Rocket Rajah (aka Apu). This time its Lisa to the rescue. She introduces Banner to something else that Springfield is good for - the Banana Kaboom, which he spends the next 4 hours consuming road side.

  11. Home appears yet again, naming Flanders as the head of a new counterfeiting operation in town. Rex Banner spends yet another 8 hours interrogating him.

  12. The Rocket's Red Glare Part 10 - Meanwhile Apu spends another 24 hours stocking up on fireworks.

  13. The Rocket's Red Glare Part 11 - Now that he is all stocked up again, 15 more Springfield residents head over to the Kwik-E-Mart on 1 hour missions to purchase fireworks. Apu spends 12 hours trying to turn a profit from his customers.

  14. The Rocket's Red Glare Part 12 - Following successful sales, All American Apu spends 8 hours displaying his sense of patriotism one more time.

  15. The Rocket's Red Glare Part 13 - As a conclusion to the quest All American Apu discovers there is something wrong with the latest fireworks shipment and that the original Liberty Bell has been transported to Springfield through time. It is initially intact, but Homer doesn't take long to add the famous crack to it and leave it in your inventory to be placed anywhere in your town.
If you have the doughnuts to spare you can purchase Lincoln's Cabin, which will unlock Abraham Lincoln and complete the July 4th characters.

  1. Honest Abe Part 1 - After being plucked right out of time in the middle of delivering the Gettysburg Address, Honest Abe has a conversation with Frink and Lisa to try and figure out where he is. He then spends 8 hours outside his cabin splitting rails trying to digest where he is.

  2. Honest Abe Part 2 - Following another dialog with Lisa, Lincoln is back to splitting rails again for 8 hours, which he considers the funnest, most rewarding activity in the world.

  3. Honest Abe Part 3 - Lincoln has another conversation with Frink which causes him to retreat to his Cabin for 8 hours to feel Paranoid.

  4. Honest Abe Part 4 - Honest Abe is starting to get suspicious and spends another 8 hours of feeling Paranoid following a conversation with Lisa.

  5. Honest Abe Part 5 - Lincoln wants Lisa to fess up and tell the truth about his fate. Since Lisa refuses he heads over to the local Library, where he spends 24 hours researching his fate.

  6. Honest Abe Part 6 - Lincoln now head over to Jake's Unisex Hair Place (Requires Level 16) to get his beard trimmed for 1 hour.

  7. Honest Abe Part 7 - Lisa agrees to tell Honest Abe what he wants to know if he promises to coach the Springfield Elementary Debate Team for 12 hours, which he agrees to do under duress.

  8. Honest Abe Part 8 - After hearing of his fate, Lincoln decides to stay in Springfield. Since Frink wants to send him back, he decides to run away and hide in his cabin for 12 hours. [NOTE] This is a temporary task and will disappear once its done.

  9. Honest Abe Part 9 - Lincoln runs into Homer and Apu who recognize him, so he decides to modernize his look and spends the next 24 hours being rude and boorish and generally trying to blend in. The upcoming quest will require Mr. Burns. So you should build the Power Plant if you haven't already.

  10. Honest Abe Part 10 - Mr. Burns runs into his old friend Lincoln, making us wonder how old he really is. Lincoln wants to hide out at Mr. Burns' place for a few years, and in returns is asks to spend 8 hours splitting more rails. Honest Abe happily splits the rails and it looks like he will be here to stay in your Springfield.
